Enjoy the Hang

The Eastside of Downtown
From dappled sunlight through the oaks, to glowing fires, and hanging cafe lights in the evening - this is the place to grab a meal, have a drink, and gather with friends and neighbors.

We sell food, but we aren't quite a restaurant.
We sell drinks, but we aren't quite a bar.
We are where people gather, but we aren't quite a venue.
Inspired by The Annual Steeplechase and afternoons in my best friend's backyard, The Backyard is a place of community. Since the beginning of man, people have gathered around fires to share food, share drink, share warmth, share laughs, share stories, and share experiences.
Restaurants have become a place where you are told when to arrive and when to leave. You are told where to sit and expected to stay for your visit - often next to strangers.
We encourage you to sit near, even with, strangers, but dare you to depart as the same.
Still Taking Shape.
We’re open. We’re cooking.
And we’re still building what this place will become.

We are currently serving outside between The Parlour and Solo Vino.

A 50's Vintage Airstream is being repurposed for a great hang.

An interior space is under construction providing a more intimate setting.
Leading the expansion into Aiken's Eastern corridor is The Eastside Village, a campus of local business owners who have come together offer their talents and services for Aikenites and Aiken travellers alike.
You can find coffee, breakfast and lunch at The Parlour Coffee Shoppe.
You can find boutique retail wine and wine club at Solo Vino on the Southern end of the campus.
And in between - The Backyard spans from the The Parlour to Solo Vino - offering food, fire, and friends.

Our menu is growing as is our footprint. We are currently serving in a portion of our outdoor space as we finish the Lounge and expand our outdoor footprint.
